HC Deb 12 February 1953 vol 511 c52W
Major Beamish

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that duty has been charged on clothing brought to this country by visitors from Italy for the flood victims; and whether he will refund all sums already charged, and exempt such gifts from tax in future.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. and gallant Member for King's Lynn (Commander Scott-Miller) on 11th February.
