asked the Minister of Education the number of secondary school classes with over 40 pupils; and the number with over 50 pupils, for the latest convenient date.

Miss Horsbrugh

In January, 1952, there were 3,153 classes with more than 40 pupils, and 45 with more than 50 pupils on the registers of maintained and assisted secondary schools in England and Wales.
