asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that considerable damage has been sustained by the fishing fleet in Caithness and, as a result, a number of fishermen will be deprived of earnings for varying periods; and if he will state the procedure which should be followed to obtain financial assistance.

Thurso, but I am glad to say that 11 of them are now fishing again, that repair work is proceeding on two of the others and that the remaining two are being surveyed with a view to making arrangements for repair. I understand that the boats were insured and that claims for unemployment benefit from men who are temporarily out of work are being dealt with by the Ministry of Labour.
