40. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Food how the stocks of sweets at the latest available date compare with the stocks at the corresponding date 12 months ago.

Dr. Hill

It is estimated that distributors held two to three weeks' more supplies than a year earlier and that manufacturers held about 15 per cent. more.

41. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Food the percentage of the take-up of the sweets ration at the latest available date.

Dr. Hill

About 91 per cent. for the eight weeks ended 29th November, 1952.
