HC Deb 17 December 1953 vol 522 cc103-4W
113. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what steps he is taking to extend to other Dominions the reciprocal social insurance arrangements recently agreed with Australia; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Turton

My right hon. Friend is always ready to enter into discussions with members of the Commonwealth with a view to making reciprocal arrangements regarding social security benefits where-ever the nature of the social security schemes in the country concerned permit. He hopes shortly to resume discussions with New Zealand for the extension of the existing arrangements regarding family allowances to other benefits.
