HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 cc49-50W
8. Mr. R. Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress is being made with the abolition of controls and restrictions in the West Indies, which were adopted during the wartime emergency.

Mr. Lyttelton

Many wartime controls which no longer serve a useful purpose have been withdrawn and consideration is being given by the colonial Governments concerned to embodying in permanent legislation any that must be retained.
