HC Deb 15 December 1953 vol 522 c31W
Mr. G. M. Thomson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the rates of incidence and the death rates for multiple sclerosis in Scotland for the years 1938 to 1952.

Mr. J. Stuart

Multiple sclerosis is not a notifiable disease, and I regret there is no statistical information about its incidence. The death rate has been returned as 3 per 100,000 of the population for each year from 1938 to 1952, except in 1943 when it was returned as 4 per 100,000.
