HC Deb 14 December 1953 vol 522 cc14-5W
79. Mr. Porter

asked thunder-secretary of State for Air what steps he is taking to offer compensation to Mr. George Bottomley, a member of the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers, lately employed as a joiner at Padgate Royal Air Force Depot, in view of his having been deprived of his employment in error; and, in regard to such possible compensation, whether he will give due regard to loss of wages, and the imputations in regard to his character, that are likely to arise from the publicity given to his dismissal and the reason offered as justifying it.

Mr. Ward

Mr. Bottomley resumed work under the Air Ministry on 7th December. He will be regarded as having been continuously in our employment since 26th October, and he will be paid accordingly.
