HC Deb 10 December 1953 vol 521 c263W
63. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health how many places have been provided by local authorities in hostels for sufferers from open tuberculosis of the lung who have ceased to benefit by hospital treatment; and how many such cases are still accommodated in common lodging-houses.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

Sixty-six places are available in London and Middlesex for homeless tuberculous people who have ceased to benefit from hospital treatment. This is apart from hostels for the training and rehabilitation of the tuberculous. I regret that the information asked for in the last part of the Question is not available.
