HC Deb 08 December 1953 vol 521 cc215-6W
Mr. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will now give the detailed figures up to the end of October, 1953, showing the effect of the most recent increase in the price of school meals.

Mr. J. Stuart

The daily number of school meals served to pupils in education authority schools in Scotland in February, 1953, prior to the increase in the charge was 270,322: the figure for October, 1953, is 245,861 or 91 per cent. of the February figure.

I am circulating In the OFFICIAL REPORT corresponding figures for the different education authority areas.
