asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what advice he has given to local housing authorities on the allocation of council houses to police officers who have to vacate an official police house on retirement

My right hon. Friend has not thought it right to give specific advice. The local authorities deal with ex-police men's housing applications, as with all others on the basis of relative housing need.
