HC Deb 03 December 1953 vol 521 c174W
117. Mr. Marlowe

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Defence how many officers of the Armed Forces who retired under the 1919 code are still receiving pensions less than the amount they would have received but for the 1935 stabilisation, excluding for the purposes of this calculation increments earned by additional years of service by those who had retired prior to 1st September, 1939, but rejoined after that date; and whether he will publish in the Official Report the numbers of such officers in each rank.

Mr. Birch

I am arranging for the information to be collected and, as soon as this has been done, I will write to my hon. and learned Friend.

118. Captain Pilkington

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Defence whether he can give the assurance that, as soon as the financial position of the country permits, the Government will again consider the possibilities of re storing the 9½ per cent. cut to officers' pensions.

Mr. Birch

Yes.
