asked the Under-secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what reply Her Majesty's Government have given to the request from the Pakistan Government that a constitutional expert should be put at the disposal of the Pakistan Government to assist in working out some of the details of the new constitution for Pakistan.

My noble Friend, in response to an approach made to him in Karachi a few days ago, has promised that the United Kingdom Government will do their best to help to secure the services of a draftsman from this country to assist the Pakistan Constituent Assembly in connection with the drafting of their Constitution Bill.
