§ Miss HorsbrughIn January, 1953, the numbers on the registers of voluntary aided, controlled, special agreement and transitionally assisted primary and secondary schools were: Church of England, 998,271; Roman Catholic 428,902; and Jewish 2,096. These figures represented 16.1, 6.9 and 0.03 per cent. respectively of the total number of children at that168W date on the registers of maintained and assisted primary and secondary schools other than nursery or special schools. Separate figures are not available for aided schools.
