HC Deb 02 December 1953 vol 521 c139W
94. Sir I. Fraser

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he will make a statement as to the steps which his Department is taking in co-operation with British Railways to investigate and remove the interference with television reception in Morecambe and Heysham arising from the Lancaster to Heysham electric railway.

Mr. Gammans

Yes. The tests made by Post Office engineers in co-operation with British Railways have so far been unsuccessful; their scope has been limited by traffic on the line. I am glad to inform my hon. Friend, however, that British Railways have agreed to withdraw all electric trains from the line for periods on four days next week. I hope that this will enable us to trace the cause of the trouble and remove it.
