HC Deb 02 December 1953 vol 521 c133W
60. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why the Report of the Commission of Inquiry into disturbances in Nyasaland only covers the early incidents; and when a report dealing with later incidents, including several fatalities, will be published.

65. Sir L. Plummer

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what inquiry has been instituted into the disturbances at Chinadynki, Midima Road, Chikwawa, the village of Chitera and other places in Nyasaland in which Africans were killed or injured, following the disorders at Cholo which were investigated by a commission set up for the purpose.

Mr. Lyttelton

The sequence of events subsequent to those dealt with by the Commission is already well known to the Nyasaland Government and I see no need for further inquiry.
