asked the Minister of Education how many classes in Newport had more than 40, 50 and 60 children, respectively; and what was the highest number in any one class this year.

In January, 1952, the latest date for which information is available, there were in maintained and assisted primary and secondary schools in Newport, Monmouthshire, 90 classes with between 41 and 50 children on the rolls, and two classes of 51 children. There was none with more than 60 children.
