HC Deb 02 April 1953 vol 513 c163W
13. Mr. Sorensen

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the importation of umbrellas into this country from Hong Kong at a price as low as 1s. 8d. each; and what action he has taken in respect of such imports, for the protection of home production.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

The import of umbrellas from Hong Kong fell sharply in 1951, and reached only a trifling level in 1952.
