HC Deb 21 October 1952 vol 505 c89W
92. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how far recent figures of tourist traffic in Scotland show an increase on previous years; and what further steps are under consideration for stimulating this important trade.

Mr. J. Stuart

I am informed by the Scottish Tourist Board that although figures are not yet available, the number of tourists visiting Scotland in 1952 is expected to be greater than in 1951, which in turn was greater than in the two previous years. The Tourist Board are preparing plans for increasing tourist traffic still further and I am asking them to send my hon. and gallant Friend information about them.
