§ 65. Mr. Haymanasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what sums were authorised by his Department for rebuilding the bombed City of Portsmouth in the years 1949–50, 1950–51, 1951–52 and 1952–53, respectively.
§ Mr. H. MacmillanThe sums authorised were: In 1949, nil; in 1950, £100,000; in 1951, £450,000. The total value of work completed or started is about £1.5 million. Expenditure on such work this year will be about £220,000; £340,000 next year and £200,000 in 1954.
