asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what was the total number of new licences issued for reconstruction in the Plymouth city centre between October, 1951, and October, 1952; and what was the total value of the work to be covered by these licences.

In view of the large amount of work already in hand, two new licences, value £80,000, have been issued in this period. The value of the work carried out in 1951 was £781,000 and is expected to be, in 1952, £683,000. £230,000 is carried over.
