§ 109. Mr. Swinglerasked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many applications for telephones in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme have been dealt with in the last 12 months; how many applications are at present outstanding; and how soon he expects he will be able to provide the service for these applicants.
§ Mr. Gammans215 telephones were provided during the 12 months ended 30th September, 1952, and 708 applications were outstanding on that date. The installation of additional equipment has just been completed, and this will enable a substantial number of applicants to be given telephones within the next few months, but I cannot say when it will be possible to meet all the outstanding applications.
