§ 83. Mr. Philip Bellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that petty sessional courts are attaching printed notices to their summonses under Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, referring to the provisions of Section 33 of the said Act, which imply that the defendants need not attend at the hearing, and upon the non-attendance are issuing warrants for arrest; and whether he will circularise magistrates suggesting an alteration in the form of this notice, a copy of which has been sent to him, and also advising them on the matters which they should take into consideration before exercising their powers to issue warrants in cases of this nature.
