33. Mr. Mikardo

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will indicate the distribution of the total costs defrayed by the West German Federal Government between the United States of America, France and Britain, and explain the basis on which the distribution is made.

Mr. Nutting

From April to October, 1952, the occupation costs of the three zones will be approximately:—

  • British—DM 210 million a month.
  • United States—DM 270 million a month.
  • French—DM 120 million a month.
The distribution is made on the basis of the estimated requirements of the various authorities.
