HC Deb 31 January 1952 vol 495 c43W
32. Mr. Reeves

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why his Department refused admission to this country to an alien resident in Israel, the mother of a naturalised British subject living in Greenwich and practising as a doctor, when he needs her to keep home for him, particulars of which have been sent to him.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

As the hon. Member has been informed by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, the circumstances of his constituent's mother, who is living with her husband in Israel, are not such as to bring her within the categories of foreigners who, because of isolation or distress, are allowed to come here to live with relatives in this country.
