HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c54W
89. Mr. Steward

asked the Minister of Education if she is yet in a position to make a further statement on the school transport for children on the Avery Hill Estate, Eltham.

Miss Horsbrugh

I am informed that there has been an appreciable improvement, partly due to a more frequent service of buses and partly because the local education authority have been able to find temporary school accommodation for infants near the site. The present difficulties should largely disappear when the new primary school now under construction on the estate is completed. It is now hoped that part of the school may be occupied early in the summer term.
