HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 cc49-50W
79. Mr. Maudling

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in framing his proposed legislation on excess profits, he will give special consideration to the exceptional nature and purpose of payments received by film-producing companies from the British Film Production Fund, Limited, and especially to the fact that this fund was created so as to make it possible for efficient film production to become self-supporting.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I must ask my hon. Friend to await the detailed proposals relating to the Excess Profits Tax which will appear in the Finance Bill.
