HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c43W
56. Mr. G. Brown

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he proposes to take in the light of recent Government policy regarding food supplies, to stimulate further domestic food production.

Sir T. Dugdale

Domestic food production is essentially a measure of self-help by individual households and voluntary organisations. Representative national organisations are at present receiving grant aid from the Government, on the advice of the National Council for Domestic Food Production under the chairmanship of my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary. The educational work of local authorities in this field is also grant-aided. The Government cordially welcomes and appreciates the work of these organisations and authorities.
