§ 135. Mr. Godberasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will consider the reduction in the coming season of imports of cut flowers now allowed under licence, in the interest, not only of saving foreign exchange in the country's present economic difficulties, but of alleviating the position of the home flower-growing industry, which has become serious through the increases in costs of production and the repercussions of the increase in the import of flower bulbs since these were placed on open general licence on 1st May, 1951.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftImports of cut flowers allowed under licence are already restricted in quantity. I do not propose to intensify these restrictions in the coming season.
