HC Deb 09 December 1952 vol 509 c22W
67. Mr. M. Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for War why the collection and delivery of War Department vehicles is being undertaken by Car-Collection, Limited, when War Department drivers are available for this work.

Mr. Head

The collection of vehicles from production is carried out under Ministry of Supply arrangements. Normally Army drivers are employed to deliver vehicles from Ordnance depots, but during the Reserve and Territorial Army training this year we had to enlist the help of a civilian firm to cope with the number of vehicles to be issued.
