96. Mr. P. Wells

asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of cases of bankruptcy reported each year since 1936, resulting from the non-payment of tithe redemption charges.

Cases of bankruptcy are not classified in such a way as to give this information; but I am informed by the Tithe Redemption Commission that 27 receiving orders have been made since 1936 on petitions presented by the Commission.
