HC Deb 09 December 1952 vol 509 cc50-1W
Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he is aware of the increased demand in Scotland that the Kirk O'Shotts radio station should be used to provide television for the people of North-East Scotland in time for Christmas and Hogmanay; and what steps he is taking so to use that station.

Mr. Gammans

The B.B.C. informs me that whilst the service area of the high-power television station at Kirk O'Shotts, which is working on full power extends as far north as Montrose, this station cannot provide and was never intended to provide a reliable service in North-East Scotland.
