HC Deb 04 December 1952 vol 508 c182W
Colonel Stoddart-Scott

asked the Minister of Food how much coarse grain and barley we have purchased from Turkey in the last 12 months; if he is aware that there is 1½ million tons available at the moment; and what steps he proposes to take to secure this valuable animal feedingstuff for Britain.

Major Lloyd George

The answer to the first part of the Question is "none." Turkish coarse grains have recently been offered for sale to the Ministry but at prices considerably above world values. We have made bids but no purchases have resulted.
