HC Deb 02 December 1952 vol 508 c135W
85. Mr. P. Wells

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the growing resentment among local government authorities at the substantial relief from rates granted to industrial hereditaments since the Local Government Act, 1929, became law, and if he will, in the light of existing financial conditions, introduce legislation to ensure that industrial establishments are required to make an equitable contribution to the rates.

Mr. Marples

My right hon. Friend would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Holborn and St. Pancras, South (Dr. Jeger) on 21st October.
