§ Dr. Kingasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of the nation's capital investment programme is represented by the £2½ million of reconstruction work which he proposes to allow the bombed cities.
§ Mr. Maudling£2½ million of reconstruction work represents about one quarter of 1 per cent. of the nation's investment programme of new building work in 1953. Our target for blitzed city reconstruction work to be done in 1953 is £4½ million. If this is achieved it will be more than in any year except 1952.
