HC Deb 29 November 1951 vol 494 c162W
64. Mr. T. W. Jones

asked the Minister of Agriculture to what extent his officers have been instructed to cooperate with the farmers in reducing losses caused by foxes in Merionethshire.

Sir T. Dugdale

My officers have instructions to give every possible assistance, and to encourage co-operation between farmers. The county agricultural executive committee has a staff specially appointed to destroy foxes and from January to October of this year accounted for no less than 1,173. There are two fox destruction societies in the county who are assisted in their endeavours to destroy foxes, and they, in the same period, have accounted for a further 326 foxes.
