HC Deb 28 November 1951 vol 494 c155W
71. Sir H. Roper

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether, in view of the small proportion of listeners who listen to the Third Programme of the British Broadcasting Corporation and the much larger proportion to whom their own regional programme cannot be made available owing to the insufficient allotment of wavelengths, consideration will be given to the transfer of a wavelength from the Third Programme to the regional service.

Mr. Gammans

No. The B.B.C. informs me that the two wavelengths used for the Third Programme are required to give a reasonable coverage.
