asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he will assure the House that no licence to receive television pictures at public cinemas will be granted until the House has had an opportunity of considering the terms under which such licence is granted.

Mr. Gammans

No licences for showing television programmes to paying audiences at public cinemas will be granted until the Government have informed the House of their views on the public showing of television.
