HC Deb 22 November 1951 vol 494 c72W
90. Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the large number of cases of indecency against children in cinemas, he will adopt the suggestion made to him by the National Council of Women, and take steps to make cinemas provide separate accommodation for unaccompanied children, as recommended by a Government committee last year.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

The law relating to cinemas does not at present enable me to impose such a requirement, but I am considering the report of the inter-Departmental Committee on Children and the Cinema, which contains recommendations for amending the law on this subject.
