§ 73. Mr. Blackasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider making a special campaign to encourage the taking up of National Savings investments in view of the financial position of the country.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe "Lend Strength to Britain" savings campaign, which was suspended during the election, has been resumed and I have assured the Chairman of the National Savings Committee that it has my full support. The National Savings Movement is, of course, a non-political organisation and I welcome this opportunity to appeal to all hon. Members to do everything they can to ensure that the campaign is successful.
