§ 52. Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Agriculture how many acres of land in Huntingdonshire are considered by the county agricultural executive committee to be unnecessarily prevented from being cultivated owing to the presence of derelict aerodrome and hutted camp foundations and structures, etc.; and what steps are being taken to bring such land into production.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI am informed that in Huntingdonshire about 1,200 acres of agricultural land are sterilised by concrete runways hut bases and other structures associated with airfields and military camps. To remove these obstructions would cost far more than would be justified by the gain in food production.
