asked the Minister of Labour the number of unemployed men and women in Macclesfield, Congleton and Bollington, respectively; and the number on short-time work.

Sir W. Monckton:

At 15th October, 113 males and 175 females at Macclesfield, and 18 males and 141 females at Congleton. There is no employment exchange at Bollington, which is in the area of the Macclesfield Employment Exchange. As regards short-time work, I regret that statistics for local areas are not available.
