HC Deb 31 May 1951 vol 488 c48W
88. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Health in view of the charges made for accommodation at convalescent homes under his control in respect of under school-age children and that this may amount to £4 4s. per week, whether he will take action to ensure a much lower maximum charge to parents of children for whom there would be no charge if old enough to attend school.

Mr. Marquand

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to accommodation in holiday homes, arranged for by local health authorities. Here the amount of the charge is a matter for the authority, having regard to the means of the person concerned.
