Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Health in view of the charges made for accommodation at convalescent homes under his control in respect of under school-age children and that this may amount to £4 4s. per week, whether he will take action to ensure a much lower maximum charge to parents of children for whom there would be no charge if old enough to attend school.
§ Mr. MarquandI assume that my hon. Friend is referring to accommodation in holiday homes, arranged for by local health authorities. Here the amount of the charge is a matter for the authority, having regard to the means of the person concerned.
