HC Deb 21 March 1951 vol 485 c297W
107. Wing Commander Hulbert

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will now make a further statement with regard to the projected direct telephone service between London and Caracas.

Mr. Hobson

The number of calls likely to be exchanged with Venezuela would not justify the opening of a direct radio-telephone service, but arrangements have been made for calls to be connected via New York. This service was opened on Monday, 19th March.
