300Wto the latest date in Salford, Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Sheffield and Bradford, respectively; and the relations in percentage which the figures bear to Mr. Ellis Smith asked the Minister of the respective populations.
§ Mr. DaltonThe information is as follows:
of grants promised, but not yet paid, in respect of schemes, respectively, up to the latest convenient date; and how far delay in the payment of grants promised will be caused as a result of revisions of the capital investment programme arising from re-armament.
§ Mr. DaltonThe following details relate to the period from the end of the war to 28th February, 1951:
- (1) Value of all rural water schemes submitted for approval: £59,859,149.
- (2) Value of schemes approved in principle but not yet authorised to go to tender: £14,081,296.
- (3) Value of schemes authorised to start (completed and incompleted): £22,593,782.
- (4) Grants promised finally or conditionally under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act, 1944: £9,142,769.
- (5) Portion of (4) paid to 28th February, 1951: £1,445,175.
There is no reason to expect delay in payment of grants promised for schemes already approved.
