HC Deb 20 March 1951 vol 485 c261W
101. Mr. Boothby

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further representations he has received from the Herring Industry Board regarding the desirability of improving and maintaining the quality of herring marketed or processed in this country; and whether he will now permit the Board to impose such standards as they consider necessary for this purpose.

Mr. McNeil

No further representations have been made by the Board since I wrote to the hon. Member on 23rd November last. I understand that the Board are consulting the Herring Industry Advisory Council on the matter.
