asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps are being taken to find markets for herring in Eastern Europe.

Provision for the export of herring is included in our trade agreements with Poland and with Finland. In these and other countries the negotiation of contracts rests with the Herring Industry Board. His Majesty's Government will continue to do all they can to support them in their efforts.
