HC Deb 14 March 1951 vol 485 cc182-3W
117. Mr. Wyatt

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent the efficiency of the administration of North Borneo has been affected by the large number of clerks resigning owing to the rubber boom; and whether he will increase the cost of living allowances to meet the rapidly increasing prices.

Mr. Dugdale

There have been some 30 resignations from the General Clerical Service but all the vacancies so caused have been filled and the loss of efficiency has therefore been slight. Increases in cost of living allowances were approved in December last with effect from 1st August, 1950.
