HC Deb 08 March 1951 vol 485 c72W
77. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to augment the present facilities for training medical students and thus ensure a sufficient number of doctors, in view of the necessity for expansion of the National Health Service and of the estimated wastage of members of the medical profession.

Mr. Marquand

I am advised that the present output of the schools should be sufficient to provide for some expansion as well as to replace wastage, and I am not at present satisfied that any special steps to increase it are required.
