HC Deb 08 March 1951 vol 485 c71W
71. Mr. Wakefield

asked the Minister of Health why the maximum allowance for loss of earnings or additional payments for members of hospital authorities, executive councils and certain other bodies in the National Health Service is 5s. less than the comparable allowance for members of Ministry of Labour and Ministry of National Insurance committees.

Mr. Marquand

The allowances payable to members of the National Health Service bodies are the same as those payable to members of local authorities and I have no reason to think that they are not adequate for the purpose for which they are intended.
